After reading the comments yesterday, it appears many participants are feeling discouraged, I would be lying if I didn't feel a little discouraged myself, but personally when I look back at my previous week, where I gained one pound, I found a lot of areas that could have been improved upon.
For instance, I had two bowls of ice cream. When I wasn't hungry. Multiple times I let myself get too hungry and would then binge. Eating unhealthy amounts of baked chips. I did not document what I ate for most of the week and although I was active, I did not exercise. So, my focus is to recognize my "mistakes," which I have done, and learn from them and move on.
HOWEVER, even though I did gain one pound, I feel really good. My waistline feels a little firmer and just knowing what I was consuming prior to the May Day Challenge (which was a ridiculous amount of fat and unplanned snacks and meals) compared to what I was consuming last week, makes me feel better. And that matters so much. Don't forget to think about the good you did, don't just think about the fried chicken you ate.
When you are frustrated, click on the names of people who had a loss, THAT is inspiring. (and leave a comment congratulating them! Next week it will be you!)
Try something new this week, whether it's sleeping more at night, drinking more water, kicking soda, writing down every single bite you consume, walking everyday, TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT.
I can remember watching Dr. Phil on Oprah and he would always say "if what you are doing is not working...change it." Such a simple statement, but so very true.
What are you going to do differently this week?
Think about what you are willing to do to become healthier, thinner, more confident and a good role model for your children.
QUICK TIP! Plan your menus when you are hungry, they'll be more interesting. But grocery shop when you are not hungry, so you'll have more control.

This is absolutely true... If you plan what your going to eat, and buy those it really is so much easier.. and although it seems like it would be really hard to keep a journal it's just forming a habit for yourself... where do you go to get your food?? the kitchen?? document it in there as your getting it.. leave your pad and pen on the counter.. it really did help me.. Trust me i am guilty for the past month have not documented a thing and really need to.. I am going to start again this morning!!!!

Thanks for the encouragement! It didn't go on in a day and will take more than that to get it off--for good. :)

"a good role model for your children..."...oh so many food issues, so little time. That is definitely something I have to start taking into consideration!

Thanks for the "boost" today, Beth. Things have been a little rough here this week.
I've been weighing in on Sundays on the medical-style scale at my church but was out of town for the weekend. However, I weighed in tonight at midweek services and have lost a total of 7 pounds. So, when you have a second, could I please have my 5 lb. acknowledgment/button for my blog? Every little "boost" helps! *wink*
